Pillow Talk: Part 2

hmm... "Pillow Talk: Part One" was somewhat of a flop. Everyone was so dazzled by the Twinkle Living ZigZag pillow {which, I'll admit, it is beyond incredible} that no suggestions were made regarding my pillow cover dilemma!

Just to clear a few things up:

We will be purchasing gray slipcovers as well as new, smaller throw pillows {like the zigzag pillow}.

I absolutely LOVE the Twinkle Living pillow. It's just not in our budget right now {*sniff sniff*}.

Does anyone have any recommendations on how to fit 24" pillows into either 20" or 26" pillow covers? If not: Any ideas where I can find gray, 24" pillow covers for $25 or less?

Moving right along...

As I mentioned earlier, to complement our "new" gray pillows, we'd like to add one pillow to each end of the couch  in our living room {2 pillows total}.

I am a huge fan of neutrals {gray and white are my absolute favs} and we currently have a very monochromatic living room {cream, white, beige, grey, black...you get the idea}. So, we need to all some COLOR to the space. As I mentioned earlier in the week, here is what our oatmeal-colored sofa resembles:

What color/patterned pillows would go with the aforementioned color scheme for $25 or less? I am not very fond of red and my husband despises orange, but we looove all shades of turquoise and any other punchy colors. All patterns are fine except for flowers {our home is a "no-frills" zone}.

Here are a few options {those not specified are from Target}:

1

2

3

4

5

6
7
8
{etsy}

9

10

CSN {hehe, had to throw that one in there ~ my all-time fav!}

So, which pillow(s) do you think would look best in our Living Room? If none of these will do, feel free to share other ideas! We are definitely open to suggestions.

Just a shot in the dark here because I've never tried this, but could you just add an extra layer of batting or foam to your 24" pillow to make it a 26" pillow? I think it would be easier to build up a pillow rather than shrink it.

I vote for pillow #4 or #6.

You could also find another color you like that fits your pillow and then buy your favorite gray fabric to sew (very simple) a band that covers the majority of the pillow... see here: http://www.allaboutyou.com/craft/cushion-design-covers/v1
Plus this way you can incorporate another color - maybe that beautiful tiffany blue from your favorite pillow! or another shade of gray.

zigzag, zigzag, zigzag. Does that tell you which one is my favorite :)

How to choose? They're all amazing. Numbers one or two would give you a totally different look than 9 or 10,and really you can't go wrong with any of them. But I think my personal faves are 3 and 4. Maybe two of one and one of the other- just for a bit of interest and variety? Happy pillow shopping!

Natalie,

I love pillows 1, 8, and 10. As far as your pillow stuffing issue, I would just say do what one of the previous comments suggested, add batting. Or have fun sewing your own pillow cases.

Miss you!

I have black & yellow pillow similar to the 1st 2 on our couch of similar color. Everyone comments on the burst of color.

I also have #7 on our bed.
Love Target!

I personally like #2 and think it would look awesome with gray. As for the pillow form not matching the pillow case, why don't you just turn the case inside out and do some sewing trickery to make it smaller. It can alway be undone if necessray and is the simplest fix I can think of.
