Feeling Festive

Here are some pictures of the Autumn-inspired touches around our home, as well as some yummy Fall and Halloween-themed foods I've made over the past few weeks:

Hot cocoa made with half and half (inspired by Carrie), served in one of my favorite Starbucks mugs (bought last year for $2 during a post-Christmas sale!)

Food and decor at our little Halloween gathering...The orange Target platter holds "Halloweenies" - hot dog weenies wrapped in crescent rolls with 2 little dots of mustard for "eyes" - they looked like mummies :)

My first ever home-made apple pie (served on Halloween, hence the bat-shaped vents)

Layla, from theletteredcottage, inspired these...However, instead of real pumpkins, paint, and using a doily as a stencil, I used faux pumpkins (so they can be used year after year), a brown sharpie marker, and I free-handed the "W" and the design.

A close-up of the big pumpkin

The wreath on our door, bought at Michael's for 50% off

What are your favorite Fall foods or decorations?

Great post. My favorite thing about fall is the leaves and Halloween. I use all sorts of faux leaves and pumpkins around the house in my decorating. The colours are so warm and cozy.

Take care,
Lisa

Just wanted to stop by and say thanks for checking out my blog- I just saw your comment from a while back- I forget to look back and check comments a lot. sometimes I think no one reads by blog :-)

I also wanted to let you know we have a shag run in the living room. I like it for the most part, but it requires a lot of vacuuming, especially with a 2 year old. Also, I would consider the fact that you want to put it under your dining room table only because I always have issues with rugs under tables because they get dirty from food, crumbs, etc. Especially since they are more difficult to vacuum being under the table. Since we moved into the house, I have no rug under our dining room table and plan to keep it that way. I like how just the bare wood floors look.

Thanks again!!

Jen

I know it's not autumn any more, but those pumpkins are worth commenting on!
